I was in Amarillo and had just stepped through the door onto the back veranda because the evening light was glorious—that warm golden light that makes everything look so beautiful.

This morning we made a choice.

Not a particularly nutritious choice.

Not a low-carb choice.

Definitely not a choice that would earn us a gold star from the wellness coach.

We chose donuts! 😂 …

I’m sitting on the sandy bank at the lake as I write this.

Nothing particularly important is happening.

The water is doing what water does. Birds are carrying on somewhere nearby. The morning is moving along without asking anything of me.

And I've been thinking about two simple words:

USE IT.
